Student Mental Health Counseling in Providence RI
A new school year can feel exciting but it can also bring a lot of pressure.
New classes. New routines. New social dynamics. Academic expectations. College applications. Roommates. Homesickness. Perfectionism. And for many students, the feeling that they’re supposed to be handling all of it just fine.
The challenges can look different at every stage. Adolescents may be navigating social anxiety, ADHD, extracurricular demands or pressure to achieve. College students may be adjusting to independence, relationships and a new environment. Graduate students can face an entirely different layer of burnout, imposter syndrome and academic pressure.
As students head back to school this fall, it’s a good reminder that academic success and mental health don’t have to compete with one another.
At PVD Psychological Associates, our clinicians work with adolescents, college and graduate students, as well as those pursuing careers in academia.
