Screen Addiction
Adults aren't immune to screen addiction.
We often talk about screen time as a problem for children and teens, but many adults are struggling too.
We bring our phones to the dinner table. We check notifications in the middle of conversations. We reach for our devices before making eye contact with the people we love most.
Over time, constant connectivity can contribute to increased anxiety, difficulty focusing, disrupted sleep, and the exhausting feeling of always being "on" while never feeling caught up.
And perhaps the hardest truth? Our children are watching.
Kids don't learn solely from what we tell them. They learn from what we model. When they see us choosing screens over presence, they absorb messages about attention, relationships, and what truly matters.
Small changes can make a difference: putting phones away during meals, creating screen-free moments, and practicing being fully present with the people around us.
Connection starts with noticing where our attention goes.
