Couples Therapy in Psychology

Couples therapy is defined as a psychotherapy that includes both members of an established partnership. Much literature refers to marital therapy, but many couples that seek treatment are not married. The term couples therapy therefore includes gay partnerships, as well as heterosexual couples who choose not to be married or are not yet married.
