Is Telehealth The Future of Therapy?

Is Telehealth The Future of Therapy?   Jolie Weingeroff, PhD Prior to COVID-19, therapists were starting to get more comfortable utilizing Telehealth to deliver therapy services to clients. This was an appealing option for those with very busy schedules or who had difficulty traveling to a therapy office. Aside from the obvious current benefit of avoiding transmission of COVID, the forced practice of exclusively online therapy has revealed many of its positive aspects. One set of benefits relates to access of care. When seeing therapists online, clients have access to specialists they would not otherwise be a...

LGBTQIA / Affirming Services

Image
PVD Psychological Associates is a recognized BCBSRI LGBTQ Safe Space. The therapists at PVD Psychological Associates have expertise working with LGBTQIA+ identified individuals and their families. We offer LGBTQIA+ Affirming and Gender Affirming Therapy . We may work with these individuals on issues non-specific to their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression, such as an eating disorder or relationship problems, or therapy might focus on very specific issues such as exploring one’s gender identity or coming out. Whether the topic of therapy is specific to being LGBTQIA+identified or not, many of our clients have told us they find it to be important and helpful that their therapist is knowledgeable about the LGBTQIA+ community and is affirming in their approach. Our therapists were recently featured in Zencare blogs on  Trans and Nonbinary Mental Health  and  Steps Toward Building a Trans-Inclusive Practice . https://pvdpsych.com/lgbtqia-affirming-services/...
